Spreading knowledge of and promoting the Douglas fir
The Douglas fir, an excellent softwood, especially suited to the timber-construction sector, is one of the Scieries du Centre's key production lines. Its membership of France Douglas, a trade association that has been promoting this softwood species since 1993 is, therefore, a natural extension of its professional focus.
This association is a key player in industry standards, research and information transfer on this species, and also runs a communications programme that federates all the actors in this professional sector.

To spread knowledge of French sawn timber and run promotional activities for export
FrenchTimber, an association created in 2001 by the Fédération Nationale du Bois, supported by the French timber sector through the France Bois Forêt inter-branch organisation. Bolstered by this professional support, FrenchTimber has been working since 2007 to develop French exports of sawn timber and French wood products via a whole raft of promotional activities. The Scieries du Centre, a French sawn timber exporter, is a longstanding member of FrenchTimber.
