The sawmill's supplies come mainly from the coniferous forests of the department or neighbouring departments: timber quality and the sustainability of regional forests are essential to the company's activity and future.

Les Scieries du Centre gives priority to sourcing the timber needed for its processing activity from forests holding PEFC certification.

It supplies 15,000m3 annually of PEFC softwood logs, an amount that has steadily increased since obtaining its certification in 2007.

Forestry work is entrusted exclusively to professionals committed to complying with PEFC forest management rules during felling and forest work.

A demanding chain of custody, regularly inspected by an external and independent body, the FCBA, constantly verifies compliance with PEFC requirements throughout the process of transforming softwood logs into lumber. All stakeholders who may be involved in the production process, forestry operators and forestry contractors, must be members of the PEFC scheme and comply with its rules. All these measures ensure traceability, guaranteeing the quantities of timber marketed from responsibly managed forest resources.

The Scieries du Centre annually produces more than 12,000 m3 of PEFC-certified lumber.

The proportion of lumber marketed under the PEFC label has increased steadily year after year since the company was certified.
